i recall there was a time when kids were allowed to read the subheadings at the watchtower study.
they cut that out because they wanted kids to participate in the same way as the adults, by answering the questions for the paragraphs.

The degree of rebellion reflects the degree of repression. How true! I think however, you are too kind when you credit them with your reasoning skills. Who's to say we wouldn't be even better at reasoning had we not had our heads filled with all that garbage. At the same time I can see the need to try and pull something positive from an absolutely hopeless situation.

Prince and Lindsay Lohan Partying?
by wozadummy injust finished reading an article in the morning newspaper about lindsay lohan cheking herself into the wonderland centre for drug and alchohol rehab.. it is sad to see such a beautiful young person getting to need such services with so much of her life ahead.. but the part of the report that made me sit up and think was this, i quote........ "ms lohan was in hospital on january 3 for appendicitis but was seen out partying a couple of hours after she was discharged.. since, she has been seen out almost every night and on monday she attended prince's post golden-globes bash at the beverley wilshire hotel.
a fellow party goer said she obviously was the worse for wear.".
well i'm spewing over this and here are my questions then....... if prince is a jw what the hell is he doing organising a large function without the elders approval?.

I hope one day Prince gets caught with his pants down in avery public way and gets the boot. Then he can write a big hit song about hypocrasy called "All along the watchtower" or maybe a song about shunning called "Purple pain." That would be great exposure.

In life a kid must be able to explore different things and feel a sense of protection in doing so. This is all a part of self discovery and identity and enables dreams and motivation. A parents job is to guide there kid in the path of there own chosing not driving an agenda down there throats. Also a parent must be able to have there hand on the pulse of there child, not by being invasive, but by being sensitive to how they feel by putting themselves in there shoes. ie asking yourself how would I feel among my peers if I was in grade one and had to walk out of a classroom, or how would I feel, if on valentines day I got no cards from anyone, and how would I feel being left out of numerous activities and veiwed as a social misfit etc. When gut instinct is removed from parenting you have lost touch with reality. When parenting is more punitive than love based you have lost touch. Growing up with the idea of the world ending and constantly obsessed with death is not condusive to allowing a child to dream either. Not in any way are kids allowed to be kids in this bullshit religion. They are groomed to be zombies that sell magazines for a faceless corporation with all the mental controls of a cult. Even the teen years are worse with sanctions and no mercy or understanding. It's like growing up and seeing everbody allowed to do whatever they want with no repercussions and you can't." When you steal someones dreams you have murdered there souls." Blaise Pascal. I never even got to have a dream. Indeed one would be further ahead to grow up with no discipline and be in touch with that deep place in your soul.

Elder wisdom ???
by KAYTEE inthis is elder wisdom in play, at my last congregation they had a map mounted on the wall of the whole territory, this was divided into small segments and given a number, thus producing a quantity of smaller maps.
( a bit like a jig saw puzzle) which was also given a corresponding number.. they then had a colour coding system of round stickers, red, blue and green.
red = territory not covered in 2 years.

As far as I'm concerned elder wisdom is non existant. The term elder is like a badge to be hidden behind. Tribal mentality, is very bully like and incompetence is rampant. I do not recognize them as proffesionals in any sense of the word legalisticallly, theologically, phychologically, morally or any other way. They are legends in there own minds and rule over other peoples lives with impunity. Only in there world do they have authority. In the real world they would be incessantly laughed at by there pronouncements. They are a complete joke!

i got 'privately reproved' after rushing to the elders to confess my sin after losing my virginity via fornicating.
i think all that shame and guilt and legalism that flowed on from that experience must've f*cked me up a bit, scuse the pun.

I also notice that the elders make sure their sons and daughters marry the best looking and best of of the crop. They protect their own kids who party like f%&^*^n animals and kill the competition by doing in guys like me. Guess what we know your game now and see you for the losers that you really are! Sorry for being harsh but that's the way I see it. I was even banned from my brothers weddings ,my own graduation and lived in dire straights, while they lived there lives with zero repercussions. I know many things about many people. I have connections to the grapevine. I have made it my business. Well i'm back now! Does anybody agree or am I just talking out the top of my hat. Thats what happened with me anyways and that's what I see. I have nothing to lose by saying this. They couldn't possibly damage my life anymore. These comments are not hate motivated they are fact motivated at least in my situation. I would like to know if anyone else has made the same observations.

The exact same thing happened to me and it was made into a public affair. I lost it to a prostitute because they sanctioned my life beyond beleivability and I felt my life was passing me by. I did not want to bring shame on the congregation and couldn't relate to anyone in the world. I know of three others in my congregation that did the same thing years after I did. That tells you something in bold print that something is very wrong with what they are doing to people. There are probably others too all over the country that go this route. It is very difficult to talk about because people don't understand and don't care. I was 19 years old when it happened and told a sister who ratted me out. My first experience was don't kiss me don't touch my breasts just do it and get out! That was my first experience and it shouldn't have been that way. I didn't deserve that and I'm not hard to look at either. The shame the guilt the embarassment and the public exposure was to much to bear. I felt condemed and dammed by god and family. I went on the same rampage as you. When your name is destroyed and your life and dirt is made public what difference does it make anymore. I felt I might as well have as much fun aas I can as I'll be destroyed at harmaggedon First sexual experience is crucial and leaves a lasting impression on the mind. I can almost relate to what it feels like to be part of a tabloid scandal. Despite my honesty and good intentions growing up this was my reward and it still effects me today. I'm glad you had the courage to post what happened to you and wish more people would. I think it's a bigger problem than most people realize. The only reason I now post my expererience is it was already pubic knowledge, the damage has been done and now I see that it wasn't my fault. To anyone reading this now that see's themselves know that it is not your fault.God dam you hypocritical bastards. I'm with ya all the way buddy!

Same as the watchtower. Nothing will change. The peolple don't want it enough. He is a dying 80 year old man and his brother is not what I would call a leader either. Just a guy lucky enough to be his brother. If they can't overthrow that, what hope is there.
